Preparation For Paving Maintenance
Liberty Commons’ Board of Trustees contacted Dig Safe®1 this morning to mark our underground utilities in preparation for the paving maintenance and initiative. You may notice National Grid (electric and natural gas), Comcast (Internet, cable television, and telephone), Verizon (telephone), and the City of Leominster Water Department (water) onsite marking the pavement and grass areas within 50-feet of the work areas.
National Grid (natural gas) met with Liberty Commons’ Board of Trustees and has already been onsite this morning marking the natural gas lines in the work areas. The remaining utilities should be onsite within 72-hours.
The paving contractor, Testagrossa Paving, will also be defining the work areas with white paint and/or markings. The wooden stakes installed by Liberty Commons’ Board of Trustees are in place for the addition of parking spaces, specifically:
- East of Unit 32 (Gates Crossing)
- Northeast of Unit 73 (Berrington Road) to the left of the dumpster2
- West of Unit 100 (Berrington Road)
- North of Unit 102 (Berrington Road)
- North of Unit 105 (Berrington Road) at the end of the existing parking spaces to the left of the dumpster
The paving maintenance and initiative will be performed in steps and stages, and will be completed before late Fall. As more information is available to share, it will be.
1 Dig Safe® is a not-for-profit clearinghouse that notifies participating utility companies of your plans to dig. In turn, these utilities (or their contract locating companies) respond to mark out the location of their underground facilities. Dig Safe is a free service, funded entirely by its member utility companies.
2 These parking spaces will be for seasonal use only. Parking in these parking spaces during winter months will be prohibited.
